Edward Albee’s The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia? Captioned & Audio Performances
Wednesday 10 May 7.30pm
Stage Text Captioning is similar to television subtitles and gives people who are deaf, deafened or hard of hearing access to live performance. The actors’ words appear on an LED caption unit placed next to the stage or in the set, at the same time as they are spoken or sung.
The caption units will be placed in the Royal Circle – your seats will be positioned perfectly to see the show on stage and read the text on the screens.
Royal Circle tickets £25 each (inc £1.50 restoration levy)
You can select your own seats online below – we have held rows in the centre of the Royal Circle for you.
These tickets are available to all who feel they would benefit from Stage Text Captioning and companions, but numbers are limited.

Audio Described Performance
Tuesday 2nd May 2017 @ 7.30pm
Talking Sense Audio Description Services are delighted to be delivering the live described performance of Edward Albee’s The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?, on Tuesday 2nd May 2017 at 7.30pm. Audio description is a live commentary giving details of the visual aspects of a production. The on stage movement of actors, scenery or props, along with the mood and lighting of the production is described live by interspersing the dialogue with the commentary. It is brought to the patrons via radio headsets. For this performance the description will be given by Nadine Beasley and Kate Taylor-Davies.
At audio described performances, fifteen minutes before the play begins you can hear an introduction to the production which gives details of the set, costumes and characters. Alternatively you can listen to these in advance.
A CD of the notes can be sent to your home – please ask for this service when you book your tickets, or the notes can be accessed on the Talking Sense website.
Front Stalls tickets for Edward Albee’s The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia? are £25 per person.
Carers or friends accompanying you are also eligible for this reduced rate.
Touch tours of the production allow you to get close to the set, costumes and props used in the play. During a tour, the audio describers will guide you through important props and character costumes used in the production. These tours are free, and can be booked when you order your tickets.
Tickets for the Audio Described Performances can be booked by calling the theatre on 020 7930 8800 Monday to Saturday 10am-7pm or in person at the theatre, Monday to Saturday 10am – 6pm
